What must I do next "


New Computer Set Up
  1. Create Recovery Discs. (No disks come with your new computer)
  1. Set up language, time, location etc.
  1. Set up default programs
  1. Set up user accounts.
  1. Security:
  2. Remove the trial Antivirus version that comes with computer. (You would have to pay in 30 or 60 days to keep it)
  3. Install AVG (this is the best free Antivirus program)
  4. Install an antispyware program
  5. Install an antimalware program
  6. Install Threat Fire.
  1. Install an Email program (Windows 7 does not come with an email program, no Outlook Express, no Windows Mail)
  1. Set up a Gmail account and bring all your account settings into your email program.
  1. Install a maintenance program and explain how to use it.
  1. Set up Skype
  1. Remove the default to the trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 which you must buy after 60 days
  1. Install Sun Microsystems Open Office. (Open Office includes programs which are equivalent to, and compatible with, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point 2003).
  1. We recommend that the following programs also be installed:
  2. A second web browser
  3. Photo management software
  4. Program to burn CDs and DVDs
  5. Page Plus (equivalent to Microsoft Publisher)
